How much is this going to cost? The assessment fee is $100.  This fee is set by NC law and must be paid at the time of the assessment.  The fee for classes is $55.00 per session.  All fees are due at the time of service and must be paid in cash.

What do I need to bring with me?
  • A copy of your complete NC driving Record from the DMV. You may get this online at http://www.ncdot.org/dmv/online/ or you may request one through the mail. You will also need driving records from any other states you have been licensed in.
  • Your breathalyzer or blood test results (BAC). There are several ways to get this information. From your attorney, it may be notated at the bottom of your ticket, from the clerk of court or if you had blood drawn, you can get it from the hospital.
  • Copy of your citation
  • If you are post trial we will also need a copy of your judgment papers.
  • Picture ID  
  • Social Security Card
What is the purpose of the assessment? An assessment is required by State Law. You cannot get your driving privileges restored without it. Once the assessment is completed it will have one of two recommendations, education (ADETS) or treatment (usually outpatient). 
Should I get an assessment before I go to court? In reality, you are not required to get an assessment or start services until after a conviction. Nevertheless, it can be to your advantage to voluntarily initiate the process.
Can I go anywhere for my assessment? Assessments must be completed in person by a qualified or certified substance abuse professional. They must be an authorized NC DWI services provider. Providers can be found at www.ncdhhs.gov/mhddsas/dwi under the locate services tab.
